The San Juan Bridge No. 2 was constructed after completion of San Juan Bridge No. 1. The old southbound bridge was demolished and a new bridge was constructed. During its construction, traffic was diverted over bridge no. 1. Called the San Juan Bridge TR-2H Stage 2A in the contract, it is the first of the two bridges in the Stage 2 contract.
